Into the Abyss

“I cannot reach those depths, but I feel her pull..”
This piece is one of my favorites as it gave me the most grief when creating it. This is a large piece of wood and has a beautiful texture to it. I began with an image in mind but this piece, like so many others, created itself and I was thankful at the final stage- that I was able to “get out of the way” and let the art create.
The deep, rich colors lend to the emotion of the piece and I was inspired during the entire process to stick with it, no matter how long it might take. It was well worth the process, I learn something new and often humbling each day I create.
